Suburban Assault (#15)

This is what we should be using SUVs for, moonlaser installations :). Or if you dont care about the eventual collapse of the moon into the earth you can simply use it to help with traffic.

Win Button (#14)

This is the win button, a wonderful button full of joy and magic. Can also be a lose button if you are not the one with it :(

In the immortal words of some retard: "LOL I make win by I Win Button Kthx!"

And yes, if you hit it more than once, more win occurs, its like a free vending machine of win. At the bottom of this is a basket, its where your win is kept.

octane (#13)

Octane- a long chain hydrocarbon that makes up the bulk of what we commonly call gasoline. This makes cars make pretty noises, and as of about now costs an insane $4 a gallon (weak). heres my shout out to this wonderful(and harmful) molecule! printed in white on a light blue shirt, kinda cloud-like for something that will damage our atmosphere :(

Red Reticle (#12)

This is my dork shout out to my current favorite game, EVE Online. Anyone who plays EVE will recognize this symbol as being a member of an enemy faction, usually a bunch of 'em, and they usually want to kill you. anyways i figure it would make a neat shirt, and am pretty suprised CCP doesn't sell these :(. it would be fun to get a bunch of people with these and walk around a mall, just to see who notices.

Global Warming, Fast (#11)

Screw CO2 emissions, what if the moon fell back? Instead of getting rid of SUVs we should use all that extra carrying capacity to mount anti-moon lasers, a far more prudent investment in my opinion. Now that I have written that, I'm pretty sure there will have to be a mounted anti-moon laser shirt :).

Refresh (#10)

If your a safari user, this is the button of addiction, just staying in one place hoping the woot will change or hoping something, anything, will happen on facebook. This symbol has been slightly modified as the outer ring was too thin to look right. The first person who comes up and presses my chest gets a prize!

I should be posting shirt 17 today but thats not in the cards hopefully I will catch up soon!

Porsche 930 (#9)

This is a shirt I made for mothers day. My mother is Way into porsches and has a few, including the 930 pictured here (her favorite), unfortunately this print didn't align right because I forgot to add the alignment marks. The two she got were perfectly aligned and looked super-badass, but I gave them to her before I snagged photos.  This is a late post from monday :p hopefully i will be able to design the rest today/tomorrow and catch up soon!

chair jousting! (#8)

There is actually a photo I used as a source for this image, if this really needs explanation then it probably isn't for you. Printed 3 tees, some of the small negative spaces filled in :(.  Sorry for posting late, I have been busy other projects, I should be catching up this week, hopefully I will be posting pictures of my other project soon.

Spas Sausage (#7)

This is a fake product type thing for a friend of mine, the word on the shirt is "spas" not spaB the B is just a sharp s in german, pronounced like a double s in english. The translation is just "fun". I very much liked the shiny sausage for this shirt. Two prints were made although the second one bled a little bit, it was a thinner vinyl mask and Im pretty sure it didn't stick well to the screen.

WTF Penguin (#6)

This is my penguin, he is kinda confused, that WTF kind of confused, done on a polo, a tee and my girlfriend's purse. I was kinda worried about his lack of pupils, but it came out better without em. Sorry for the late post, I laid on my porch and read a book all day :)

Sitting Outside (#5)

This was more of a "will it work" shirt, and I like the way it came out. The photo really doesn't show it, but the print is done with the window on the right shoulder and the flood coming across the chest.  Done on two shirts, one blue and one black.

If anyone is wondering how these are being printed please look here. the vinyl cuts are being done courtesy of Steven Tillman at Apogee Signs. He just gets a copy of whatever shirts he likes, and likely will have the most extensive collection of these shirts by the end of the project.

Anarchy Balloon (#4)

The Anarchy Ballon is  kind of a joke, but i have a thing for dirigibles, and the tail was looking kinda plain. and if your wondering about the rather odd anarchy logo, look here. That screwed up punk version is just that, the punk version. Yeah the prop blades are massive, but they didn't print right otherwise. Printed on the back of a single button down shirt.

Egg-Mecha (#3)

This is a mechanical egg, there is no reason, sorry. I like the look of steampunk/clockwork gears and the egg is such a great symbol of life and health. White print on two shirts, one red and one this color purple, the edges of the design are slightly brighter than the center due to the way the ink is pressed in.

Its kind of ironic that this post is today, I went and saw Ironman this morning, Fantastic, Amazing, wait till after the credits. The Dude is in it! (the movie, not the credits)

Battlecruiser Operational (#2)

This is the Terran Battlecruiser from Starcraft 2, one of my buddies wanted it on a shirt so I created a two part design with the body being white and the overlay detail in black, the print in the photo is on a kensington laptop bag and is purposefully worn looking, simply by not applying enough ink. Not to mention the texture of the bag lends itself to that style. In addition to the bag it was printed on 3 shirts. alignment of the two plates was a minor issue as I had no way of mechanically aligning the plate. I may work on that system next.

Robot-Radio (First shirt)

Robot-Radio
An unknown robot sending out little signals, I don't know why, but he's cute! The odd looking black image is the color separation for the printing. Shown in the top image is 4 of the 8 shirts made (along with one pair of sophie shorts.)

Unfortunately there's no background for this character, I think he is just an amalgamation of everything a cute robot should be, he's fat, he floats, has no pointy bits, and probably makes dee-dee-de-dee-dee noises as it goes about it's business.

The shirts used for this were bought from goodwill for $2 a piece and the sophies were a pair my girlfriend already had. The ink was bought for this project so I will include it in the cost at $7 per color, and the screen was $25 for more than I will likely ever use. Frame and other tools were homemade and thus free!

$16-shirts
$14- inks
$25- screens
$0- tools
$55 total for 8 shirts= $6.88 a shirt not too shabby

ShirtDay Welcome

This is the summer project of Windham Graves (me!).
I will produce and print a new shirt every weekday for the rest of summer.

Rules:
1. Two color max.
2. 8.5 x 11 max total art size.
3. Less than 5 characters.
4. No hurtful content.
5. Must include illustration.
6. Must be screen printed at least once.
7. No new clothing.
8. Screen will be destroyed immediately.
9. Shirt will be posted the morning after it is made (hopefully once a day!)

Rules 3&5 are due to my love of typography and are intended to keep me away from it. Rules 1,2 & 4 are just self imposed rules that make these shirts more realistic (in a printing sense).

I will post an About Me as soon as I get around to it.
